An applicant, Institution of Culture, Sports, Tourism and Youth activities Ravne na Koroškem, was successful on the second public competition from the Fund for NGOs and small projects (Swiss contribution), and has received a grant for the project of designing strategies for sustainable development of the village Strojna area with its full title “Transfer of good practice and cooperation Slovenia–Switzerland: In the mountain village Strojna: tourism development and architectural renewal”. In the project were treated and are given different strategies to think about, to maintain quality of life in rural area and its architectural heritage. Model or results of the project are trying to serve as a basis for system solutions and the way to run a sustainable development in the similar rural areas.
The target group of the project were the villagers of Strojna, architecture students, architects from Slovenia and Switzerland, representatives of institutions that protect cultural heritage, tourism operators, representatives of other local and regional institutions and indirectly residents of the Carinthia region.
The project included the following partners: Institution of Culture, Sports, Tourism and Youth activities Ravne na Koroškem, School of architecture, design and civil engineering and School of Life Sciences and Facility Management (Zurich University of Applied Sciences), the Association of students and intellectuals and the Faculty of architecture at the University in Ljubljana.
